The map is also very small and offers hardly any viable build spots PvP wise. It does lack severly in terms of challenge and creature variety and everybody but WC knows the DLC is not finished. I'll give you credit on SE being a lackluster map, yes. These caves can often be difficult to find, but often contain a dense collection of Silica Pearls and Oil, although the latter of which provide less oil than nodes found elsewhere in the game. Despite all its flaws, the Island offers the Tek Cave which is yet to be seen on other maps as well as some of the hardest bosses of the entire game (minus King Titan). There are currently 12 Resource Caves on The Island, and are all found underwater. You are entitled to your opinion, but don't expect WC to spend much time on that request with Genesis around the corner.īesides, maps like Ragnarok/Valguero/Center despite being nicely done removes most of the challenging aspects of this game via over abundant resources, high level creatures and easy-mode bosses.

Do you want to punish players for playing on clusters who don't have either of these maps because of how lackluster they are (and don't expect cluster owners to go out of their way to fork extra cash to temporarily add these maps to their clusters)? There is a reason Island and Scorched aren't included in many clusters, because they're poorly designed and unimpressive. Wildcard has already burned plenty of players by keeping the dodorex and dodowyvern to Island and Scorched Earth (something which they didn't openly admit before the event's release), adding the possibility for cluster owners to have the dodorex/dodowyvern naturally spawn with all mechanics intact is the least they can do.

However, as you mentionned, the whole mechanics won't follow as they are exclusive to The Island/Scorched Earth.īesides, with the current overspawn fiasco with Valguero (and other maps such as ISO Crystal Isles), do you really want WC to mess with the event and possibly make matters worst? The same could be said regarding Extinction with its Sanctuary/Underground.īesides, with the current overspawn fiasco with Valguero (and other maps such as ISO Crystal Isles), do you really want WC to mess with the event and possibly make matters The manipulation implies to basicly add the possibility of the creature to spawn among a pre-existing spawner, so the creature will spawn on its own without further human interaction. Maps like Ragnarok single handly destroyed Scorched Earth, so having the dodowyvern exclusive to the map is fine and another incentive to go play there.Īs for Aberration, the map is already extremely small and the only suitable place besides the surface would be in the green-zone already crowded with plenty of creatures, let alone gltchy spots to get the dodorex stuck. I can see the logic of adding them to other very popular maps such, but I'll have to be against the idea. However, as you mentionned, the whole mechanics won't follow as they are exclusive to The Island/Scorched Earth. Then the Swamp and Snow caves get hard. The manipulation implies to basicly add the possibility of the creature to spawn among a pre-existing spawner, so the creature will spawn on its own without further human interaction. start in the south, same way the easy spawns are in the south.Īpart from the Cave of the Hunter being noticeably easiest, the others are pretty much of similar difficulty in the middle, get used to the route to an artifact and you can be in and out in a couple of minutes for each one. Bary can jump, Bary can swim through water passages, Bary's are tall enough to keep Athro's from melting your armour most of the time.Įasiest to hardest. The best tame for caves is a Baryonyx, Thyla's can only enter one or two caves easily, Wolves lack armour, Sabres are shorter than Bary's leaving you vulnerable to Athros and Onycs, Megatheriums are huge, making it difficult to see properly when they scrape your head on the roof and need to be cryo'd through every other corridor leaving you unmounted. South cave, Cave of the Hunter is by far the easiest one.

For starters there's Onycs in there that can give you rabies and there's a good chance a megalosaurus will spawn in there. I don't know why people say central cave is the easiest, maybe back in the day it was but it hasn't been for a very long time.
